Adel Hinawi is a civil engineer and a sound engineer. He has served as a resident engineer on many multi-million dollar projects with the MTA and New York City School Construction Authority, and has also worked for several top recording studios in the Middle East and the U.S., including Al-Nazaer in Kuwait and the Hit Factory and Green St Recording in New York City, and recorded artists such as John Mayer, Gaida, the Empties and Last Train Home. Adel worked for Industrial Acoustics Company, designing solutions for hospitals, hotels, recording studios and more, and has independently designed dozens of projects, serving as an acoustical design consultant for schools, studio-owners, and live performance venues. He is a member of AES, APAP and Acoustical Society of America, and the co-founder and co-director of Purpl, an incubator and music venue in Hastings on Hudson, NY.
